Official reset & flash steps, plus guided recovery if something goes wrong — every download clearly marked official or third-party.

Select your exact model variant first

Flashing firmware meant for a different region/carrier variant can cause serious issues (IMEI/baseband loss). Confirm your model code in Settings > About phone.

All iPhone 12 regional models (A2172, A2402, A2403, A2404) utilize the universal iOS IPSW package (iPhone13,2). Note hardware distinctions: US models (A2172) feature a side 5G mmWave antenna window; China mainland/Hong Kong models (A2404) have a physical dual nano-SIM tray and disable eSIM and FaceTime Audio functionality by default.

  • Storage full crash loop (Error 1110): Performing an update when internal flash memory is completely exhausted will corrupt the APFS file system, requiring a destructive factory restore.
  • Ear Speaker / Receiver Module hardware fault (Error 4013): Corrosion or physical fracture of the top sensor flex (proximity/ambient light sensor) causes Apple hardware integrity checks to fail and abort firmware flashing.
  • Sudden cable disconnection during NAND write: Disconnecting the Lightning cable while writing baseband or system partitions can corrupt the bootloader and trap the phone in DFU mode.
  • Flashing unsigned IPSW: Apple restricts restores strictly to firmware versions currently signed by Apple TSS verification servers.
