Device-Specific Warnings
CRITICAL UNIFIED OPLUS FIRMWARE BASE: Starting with the 10 Pro, OnePlus unified OxygenOS with Oppo's ColorOS codebase. China variant (NE2210) ships with native ColorOS; Global/EU (NE2213), NA (NE2215), and India (NE2211) ship with OxygenOS. Cross-flashing regional builds requires flashing the full payload.bin in FastbootD to avoid broken sensor calibration, missing wideband modem bands, or lost Widevine L1 certification. North American T-Mobile variant (NE2217) features a carrier-locked bootloader requiring SIM unlock and an official unlock token from OnePlus before fastboot commands are permitted.
- No Public Offline MSM Download Tool: Unlike older OnePlus models (OnePlus 9 and earlier), the OnePlus 10 Pro lacks a free offline MSM Download Tool; EDL flashing requires Oppo authorized technician credentials. Do not brick the primary bootloader if OEM Unlocking is disabled.
- Flashing Dynamic Partitions in legacy Fastboot: Attempting to flash system, vendor, or product partitions via standard Fastboot instead of FastbootD ('fastboot reboot fastboot') will fail with 'partition table not found' or corrupt the super partition.
- Relocking Bootloader on Custom ROM / Root: Never execute 'fastboot flashing lock' while running a custom kernel, Magisk root, or modified system; doing so will result in an unbootable red 'Device is corrupt' state that cannot be recovered without EDL auth.
- A/B Slot Payload Flashing: When manually flashing partition images, both slots (e.g. boot_a and boot_b) must be kept synchronized to prevent boot failure after automated OS updates.
