Device-Specific Warnings

Button combo
Force Restart: Press and hold Volume Up + Power button for 10-15 seconds. Stock Recovery Mode: Power off completely, then press and hold Volume Down + Power until the 1+ logo appears, then release Power and keep holding Volume Down until language selection is shown. CRITICAL HARDWARE & REGIONAL SPLIT: OnePlus 12 China model (PJD110) ships with ColorOS out of the box. Global/EU (CPH2581), India (CPH2583), and North America (CPH2573) models run OxygenOS. Flashing OxygenOS on a Chinese PJD110 unit requires regional modem and oplusstanvbk partition calibration to avoid network drops, broken 5G bands, or regional network locking ('SIM network unlock PIN' prompt). North American models (CPH2573) include specific carrier configuration profiles distinct from global builds.

  • No Public Offline MSM Tool / EDL Authentication: The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 platform on OnePlus 12 uses Oppo's server-side cryptographic authentication for Qualcomm 9008 EDL flashing. Do not flash unofficial boot images if OEM Unlocking is disabled.
  • Dynamic Partition Flashing (FastbootD requirement): The OnePlus 12 partitions (system, system_ext, vendor, product, odm, my_product, etc.) reside in a logical dynamic super partition. Flashing must be conducted in FastbootD mode ('fastboot reboot fastboot'); flashing in standard bootloader mode will corrupt the partition table.
  • Relocking Bootloader with Modified Partitions: Executing 'fastboot flashing lock' while any modified partition (Magisk root, TWRP/custom recovery, custom ROM) is active will permanently brick the device in a red corrupted-state loop.
  • A/B Seamless Slot Mismatch: Manual partition writes must be applied to both active and inactive slots (or via full payload.bin) to avoid bootlooping when an OTA updates the inactive slot.
