Frequently asked questions
What is the AI Doc Editor?
A free document editor for answers from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and other chatbots. Paste an answer and it becomes a real document: headings, lists, tables, charts and formulas you can edit, comment on and keep in versions, then download as Word, Excel, PDF or Markdown, or copy with its formatting into Google Docs, email, Slack or Notion.
How do I paste a ChatGPT answer without the asterisks and hashes?
Click the copy button under the answer in ChatGPT and paste it into the editor with Ctrl+V. The editor reads the Markdown the chatbot wrote, so **bold** becomes bold text, # lines become headings and | tables | become real tables. Selecting the answer in the chat window and copying it works too.
How do I add a heading, table or chart quickly?
Type / on an empty line and pick a block, or keep typing to filter the list: “/table”, “/chart”, “/formula”. Markdown shortcuts work as you type too: “# ” makes a heading, “- ” a list and “1. ” a numbered list. Click inside a table and choose “Make chart” to turn its numbers into a bar, line or pie chart.
Do formulas and charts survive the export to Word?
Yes. Each formula becomes a native Word equation you can keep editing in Word, and each chart goes in as a picture. In Markdown and when copying, a chart becomes a table of its data.
Where are my documents saved?
Only in this browser, on this device. Every document, comment and saved version stays here and is never uploaded to Samprix or anyone else. Clearing your browser’s site data deletes them, so download anything you want to keep.
Can I go back to an earlier version?
Yes. The editor keeps a version every few minutes while you work, and “Save version” keeps one whenever you like. Open History to look at an earlier version and restore it; restoring keeps the current text as a version too.
